Katy grew up doing gymnastics, and competed on her high school varsity team for two years. She then went to school at Brigham Young University for Dance. While there she earned the accelerated achievement award, as well as choreographing for three semesters for BYU’s DancEnsemble. Katy also worked with several professors in works outside of school including a dance film by Caroline Prohosky and a full length dance work entitled YOU by Graham Brown. She graduated in April 2015 with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance, specializing in contemporary dance. Katy has since taught at several different studios in the Utah valley. She has also danced in several music videos including BYU Vocal Points Beauty and the Beast Medley. Her current passion is teaching tumbling and hip hop. She has earned her tumbling instruction certification from Tumbling Effect. Katy looks forward to continuing teaching and choreographing, and this will be her 3rd year teaching.
